At the Waldorf School of Bend, education is a powerful vehicle for social change. Thus, core academic subjects are taught to ignite the imagination of students and teachers in order to help foster pragmatic and inspired solutions to the ever-growing challenges of our time. The rigorous academic curriculum allows students to move forward with a sense of strong social consciousness, strong academic skills and a vibrant individuality to create their own futures. A strong reverence for nature and the desire to nurture the earth are primary foundations on which school practices are based.
We are an AWSNA Associate school, who is experiencing energetic and healthy growth in beautiful Bend, Oregon. As a WECAN Developing member school, we operate an Early Childhood Program (Pre-K & Kindergarten classes) serving children ages 3-6, a stand-alone Grades program (1st – 6th) and blended Jr. High program (7th & 8th). We are unique in that we operate a Jr. High to help students prepare for high school outside of Waldorf as currently there are no Waldorf high school options in Central Oregon.

Cover letters, biographies and resumes are currently being accepted through Friday, May 26th. Chosen applicants will be contacted after Wednesday, May 31st to begin interview process.
Part-time Movement Teacher: The Waldorf School of Bend is seeing a part-time Movement teacher for the upcoming school year. The ideal candidate would have completed (or nearly) their Level I training in Spacial Dynamics and have experience teaching various grade levels at a Waldorf school. In addition to regular classes, our students participate in a four week snow sports program at Mt Bachelor, a 5th grade Olympiad, 6th grade Medieval Games, and 7th/8th grade Track & Field meet with other Waldorf students across Oregon. Our school community recognizes the importance of healthy movement activities for all human beings…especially those that are going through the important developmental stages of elementary school. We also have a goal to begin a school sports program for 6th-8th graders within the next couple years and our movement teacher will be an integral part in this endeavor.
